Tony Comber from The Chailey Support Group for The Kit Wilson Trust for Animal Welfare held an Animal Charities Christmas Fare in Newick Village Hall and raised an amazing £1161.96.  However, £750.00 of this amount has generously been matched by Barclays Bank. The Barclays Community Programme Matched Funding Scheme doubles the amount raised by an employee.  The funds raised will be put to good use immediately as we constantly have a large number of cats and dogs at the Centre awaiting new homes, and each day can bring a variety of animals needing attention.  The Trust cares for all types of animals and the Rescue Centre has become a permanent home to many, including horses, donkeys, cats, goats, pigs and a variety of birds.  A representative from Barclays said “At Barclays we are committed to communities and we are delighted to support The Kit Wilson Trust for Animal Welfare.  This is an example of Barclays staff working closely with the local community to achieve something which we hope will make a real and lasting difference”.
