DOG TRAINING CLASSES

The Kit Wilson Trust would certainly recommend Dog Training classes to all who take on a rescue dog, in order, not only to establish a solid trust between dog and handler, but also to enable the dog to be understood and a pleasure to live with.  We can recommend the following centres:

Sandhills Canine Training Centre  offer a variety of Dog Training, Agility and Rally O Classes
Based at Sandhills Oasts,  Bodle Street,  East Sussex  BN27 4QU
Contact Julia Jarrold on 01435 830150 or Email: jlj@mistral.co.uk

Sandhills has kindly offered to give a 20% discount on all of their training classes to any dog re-homed from The Kit Wilson Trust, they will then also donate the entire fee to the Trust - all for a period of 6 months from adoption – so book your training classes as soon as possible, for your benefit and the benefit of the Trust!

We would thoroughly recommend that you have a look at their web site www.sandhillscaninetraining.co.uk

JESSIE'S DAY APPEAL

A lovely lady called Mayke came to the Centre last March, together with three of her work colleagues, to walk some of our dogs. This was in respect of a day devoted to the memory of her beloved liver-spotted Dalmation, Jessie, who had passed away in February.  Mayke has now set up a fund, called, ‘Jessie’s Trust’, and through her Company, Lavender & Sage this fund is currently supporting The Kit Wilson Trust and WRAS.

Mayke returned to the centre in April to present a cheque for £750 raised by the Jessie’s Day Appeal. We have also recently received a further cheque for £106.84. These donations, for our animals, are very much appreciated, so our many thanks go to Jessie, in spirit, for her legacy and Mayke, on earth for her thoughtful consideration. Mayke has also since adopted two of our lovely old dogs who we are sure would still be in kennels had she not kindly given them a forever home for the rest of their years.

We are therefore delighted to report that Mayke and her colleagues will return to the Centre this year on Jessie’s Day, 30th March (Jessie’s birthday), to walk some of our dogs and if you would like to help boost the funds of the Jessie’s Day Appeal, have a look at the website www.lavenderandsage.co.uk  and treat yourself to some beautiful items and help the animals in need, too!
