A Big Thank You to East Sussex Charity Boost for Good Causes

We’ve been lucky enough to know Carole Pink and the wonderful volunteers from East Sussex Charity Boost for Good Causes for quite a few years now. Time and again, they’ve found ways to help the animals here at the Rescue Centre; from practical items we need every day, to thoughtful treats that make life that bit brighter for the animals in our care.

Back in 2023,the group got busy with knitting needles, crochet hooks, and sewing machines, making beautiful purple poppies for us to sell in our charity shops for Remembrance Day. They raised an amazing £143, which went straight on special treats for our dogs and equines.

Since then, they’ve kept on giving; bringing in food, toys, cosy fleece blankets, and comfy beds. Each donation brings comfort and a touch of joy to the animals, and together they make a huge difference to life at the Centre.

Last summer, we invited two of the group, Nichola and Ivana, up to the Centre where one of our Trustees, Viv, showed them around the stables, and our Rescue Centre staff member, Ali, kindly came in on her day off to share the stories of some of the horses and ponies in our herd.

It was a lovely afternoon, and although we were sad that Carole couldn’t make it this time, we knew she was there in spirit.
